In work, the Four of Pentacles is the card of holding on.

You have a position, a client base, a job that is safe. And you don't budge. Not because it's good – but because it's secure. You've been confusing the two for a very long time.

Look at the picture: he has all the coins, but he cannot move. His arms are full, his legs are tied, his head is burdened. If he stood up, he would lose everything – or at least, that's what he believes.

And don't judge yourself for this. There was a time when you truly had nothing: when you had to count, when things were taken away, when there was no one to rely on. What saved you then, is now holding you back. This is the whole message.

This card asks: when was the last time you said yes to something whose outcome you didn't know in advance?

The other side is control. If you are a leader, this card shows that you don't let anything out of your hands. You control everything, because once someone messed it up, and you're still carrying that burden. But someone who does everything themselves is not a leader. Just tired.

And look where he sits: outside the city gate, with his back turned. Inside there is life, people, opportunities. He wasn't excluded – he sat outside, because inside it's impossible to be careful. The price of safety is always the same: you miss out. It's not the risk that's costing you the most right now. It's missing out.

They're not asking you to quit tomorrow. Just let go of one thing this week. One thing, and don't look back twice.

You've been confusing the two for a very long time – and there's no shame in it: there was a time when it truly wasn't good. When you had to be careful. What saved you then is now holding you back.

A question for tonight: when was the last time you said yes to something whose outcome you didn't know in advance?

And if you lead people, there's another side to it. You don't let anything out of your hands. You control everything yourself, because once someone messed it up, and you're still carrying that burden. But someone who does everything themselves is not a leader. Just tired.

They're not asking you to quit tomorrow. You will never be irresponsible, and that's perfectly fine.
