Description

In love, the Queen of Pentacles is the one who doesn't say, but does.

Look at the card. A queen sits on her throne, but not in a room – outside in the garden, under a blossoming rose arbor. She holds a coin in her lap, with both hands, and gently looks down at it. The way one would look at a baby.

This card conveys: the love that isn't seen is the strongest kind. The Queen of Swords loves with words. The Queen of Cups with feelings. This one with her hands. She cooks, she takes care of things, she notices you're cold and brings you a blanket before you even speak.

Someone who cooks lunch every day for eighteen years has said more than anyone who wrote a poem.

And look at the rabbit in the grass at her feet. The rabbit is the most fearful animal in the world – it runs away at any moment. This woman is so calm that the rabbit stays beside her. This is her true measure: not how much she has, but that even the most fearful creature is not afraid of her.

If you are alone: this card brings such a person, or asks you to be like this. Someone beside whom one can find peace.

The shadow, however, is sharp: she nourishes everyone, but not herself. And there is another one too – smothering. When your partner is no longer a companion, but a child, because you solve everything for them. Someone next to whom no one can grow up will remain alone, even if they live together.

Today, nourish yourself too.

Message

Everyone at your table is well-fed. And you?

Look at the card. A queen sits on her throne – but not in a hall. Outside in the garden, under a blooming rose arbor. She holds a coin in her lap, with both hands, looking down at it gently. As one looks at a newborn.

This is you. You are the one who doesn't explain, but cooks. Who doesn't say "I love you," but notices someone is cold and brings a blanket before they even ask.

This is the strongest kind of love. The one who cooks lunch every day for eighteen years has said more than anyone who has written a poem about it. Only, no one usually tells you this – because those who are always there are not even noticed.

Look at the rabbit in the grass at her feet. The most timid animal in the world, ready to run at any moment. And this woman is so calm that the rabbit stays with her.

This is the true measure of who you are. Not how much you have – but that people dare to find peace next to you. Children sense it. Animals sense it. This is rare, and you have it.

But now comes the reason why this card came today.

She feeds everyone. Not herself.

Everyone at your place gets well-fed, then everyone leaves, and you are left at the sink, not even remembering if you have eaten today. This is not modesty. This is depletion – slow, quiet, over years.

And there is another shadow too. If you solve everything for him, then your partner will not be a companion, but a child. Someone next to whom no one can grow up will be alone, even if two people live together.

Tonight, feed yourself. Cook a proper meal for yourself. Ask something from him – specifically, verbally.

The rose arbor blooms because someone waters it. Who waters you?
