NINE OF CUPS – vocation

The Nine of Cups in your career is the card of a fulfilled goal.

What you worked for, you have it. A position, a project, a level, an award – something you strived for for years. The card tells you: it has arrived, and you deserve it.

But now comes the harder part, and this is what we talk about the least in the professional world.

The figure on the card sits alone. Content, yet alone. And this is the most accurate image of what happens to many when they achieve something: they have it – and there's no one to celebrate with. Or they have it, and they feel nothing.

This card therefore asks an important question: what did you really expect from it? Because rarely did we want the position. We wanted what we thought we would feel from it – peace, recognition, that we are finally enough. And that feeling doesn't come with the position.

Its other question: aren't you immediately raising the bar higher? Most people do this. They reach a goal, and a week later they're already chasing the next, and so they never experience being successful. This is not ambition. This is escape.

Nine is the last number before fulfillment: almost everything is there. The card invites you to look at what that "almost" is.

Its shadow: empty success. When everything is checked off externally, and there's nothing inside.

The angels are telling you: stop and live in the moment.

If you've achieved something, don't immediately jump to the next thing. One day. One evening. Look back five years: where were you then? You would probably have given everything to be where you are now.

Don't automatically raise the bar higher. Anyone who does this will never be satisfied – not because it's not enough, but because the rule is that it can never be enough.

Celebrate it. Properly. A celebrated success integrates; swept aside, it evaporates. This is why many people feel like they haven't achieved anything, even though their list is full.

Share it. Tell someone what you succeeded in. Thank those who helped you. The nine of cups stands behind you – invite someone to the bench.

And ask yourself: what did I expect from this? If you have it, and yet feel nothing, then you didn't want the goal. You wanted something else. It's worth finding out what that is – because otherwise, the next goal will end up the same way.
